Since this page hits on a pretty sensitive subject in the workplace, let me make something clear: NOT EVERYONE LIES. Sure, there are people who do, but they don't speak for ALL beneficiaries of the system. Don't let the few ruin it for the many.

Lying clients is a VERY touchy subject in my office, and I suspect it is in most other welfare offices as well. There's nothing more infuriating than discovering your hard-earned taxes are funding fraudulent individuals who aren't actually eligible, and the ensuing feeling of helplessness is equally maddening. Sure, you can close their case, but the damage is already done. This story arc mirrors my own experience and feelings when I caught my first lying client...
