"Rotten Kids" was a multi-purpose comic. As a worker, I do both Medicaid and SNAP renewals, and if there's one thing I really don't like having to do, it's deal with newborns. Not just because I lack maternal instinct, but I always, always, ALWAYS forget to add the rotten things in the computer BEFORE starting the renewal process (for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about: in our computers, you must add the new member before starting the renewal, otherwise you have to complete the renewal, then return afterwards to add the person. It's a very long, tedious process if you forget it).
So I made a comic about it to help me remember. Well, maybe to amuse people as well, but mostly for my own personal benefit. And it worked! I haven't forgotten to add a newborn before starting a renewal since. (On an irrelevant side note, I've had to add very few newborns since drawing the cartoon, but we shall not discuss that.)
