I actually did something eerily similar to this the first holiday season I worked at my office. New workers thought it was hilarious, more experienced workers accustomed to the gray landscape of Cubicleland avoided me more than they otherwise might, and after a hearty giggle management kindly informed me it was a fire hazard. But it was certainly worth a try.
Now I settle for garland and ornaments suspended above my cubicle with wire hangers bent into tall hooks... and the reactions are more or less the same. Cheers!
