The above image features two characters from a graphic novel series I'm (very slowly) putting together, Crystal and Roan. This was actually my first-ever serious attempt at design in Photoshop. But it's honestly not 100% as impressive as it may sound; prior to using Photoshop, I was using a program called Manga Studio EX, which is very, very similar to Photoshop. But this still took a LOT of work, and I was ultimately quite pleased with how it came out. The lighting behind Crystal came out especially well, I like to think.
The original drawing was done on 400-weight paper in December 2010 with a blue drafting pencil and a Pentel Pocketbrush Pen. The coloring in Adobe Photoshop CS5 was done sometime in June or July 2011.
